Hi,

I have a lloyds TSB bank account which is my only bank account, I have a personal loan and a credit card with lloyds too. I have managed to keep up the full payments on these until now. I will be able to pay some but not the full ammount. What can they do to my account ?

I've heard they can take payment anyway ? also heard they could close my account or stop me access to the money I do have ? (I have my wages paid in there each month)

Please advise

Thanks very much

hi steve I had this problem with Barclays bank I opened a new account with another bank kept up payment while I sorted out wage change details then when it was all in place i then advised Barclays of my financial problem and arranged a payment deal as if the money is not there they cant take it. If you sort out a DMP with this fab site you may be able to sort out reduced payments on your loan and credit card.

Hi,

Sorry, been away for a week so only just caught up with this.

I suggest that change your bank account as soon as you can. Co-op are excellent with those in financial difficulties.

Lloyds can take any money in your account to offset against their debts - Halifax did that with me. £34 against a £20k debt!

Get a new account sorted, then you can approach Lloyds to get your payments reduced. At least your wages will be safe.

Hi
As Jan states you really need to move accounts and have your wages paid into a new account. Once this is in place contact Lloyds and arange a repayment plan with them. Lloyds can be very harsh with bank charges so the quicker you move away the better
Regards

Happy to help
