Hi. We're looking to find a way out of the debt we've got ourselves into and hope you can offer some advice. We have a UK web design business which we carried on operating when we emigrated to Australia three years ago. Due partly to the current economic environment, that business is no longer viable. We have one UK credit card and and a bank account. We currently owe about 15,000GBP in the form of one credit card debt with Nationwide and an overdraft with First Direct. We'd like to come to some agreement with our creditors regarding our debt, but aren't sure how to proceed. Where do we begin?

Hi,

There are template letters on this site which you can use to write to your creditors, offering to make an arrangement with them, I am sure they would be agreeable to this.

Any other option is not for you as you have been there for three years and so could not consider an IVA or bankruptcy.

I'll look into that. Thank-you.
